چکیده
Production of wedge clam (Donax trunculus) has experienced a widespread decrease. Environmental conditions have been postulated as an important agent though the effects on reproduction are poorly understood. We here review reproductive cycle and evaluate influence environmental in Galicia (NW Iberian coast). further contrast variability traits across distribution range. Reproductive individuals dominate size classes between 20 30 mm, spawning spans from April to July with subsequent inactive period September onwards. Length at first maturity (L50) was established 19 mm. Oocyte unrelated shell or gonad occupancy, realized fecundity averaged 8 × 105 eggs per female. had significant gonadosomatic index flesh yield which were lower less productive waters. Furthermore, interannual proportion fully mature during maximized high low levels coastal upwelling continental runoff, respectively. Across range, water temperature chlorophyll concentration defined geographical differences L50 longer occurring warmer waters central month taking place earlier year more

Implications for management and conservation of the population genetic structure of the wedge clam Donax trunculus across two biogeographic boundaries
In a resource management perspective, the understanding of the relative influence of the physical factors on species connectivity remains a major challenge and is also of great ecological and conservation biology interest. Despite the overfishing threat on the wedge clam Donax trunculus in Europe, relatively little information is known about its population genetic structure and connectivity and...
متن کاملNull alleles are ubiquitous at microsatellite loci in the Wedge Clam (Donax trunculus)
Recent studies have reported an unusually high frequency of nonamplifying alleles at microsatellite loci in bivalves. Null alleles have been associated with heterozygous deficits in many studies. While several studies have tested for its presence using different analytical tools, few have empirically tested for its consequences in estimating population structure and differentiation. We characte...
متن کاملTandem Repeat-Containing MITEs in the Clam Donax trunculus
Two distinct classes of repetitive sequences, interspersed mobile elements and satellite DNAs, shape eukaryotic genomes and drive their evolution. Short arrays of tandem repeats can also be present within nonautonomous miniature inverted repeat transposable elements (MITEs). In the clam Donax trunculus, we characterized a composite, high copy number MITE, named DTC84. It is composed of a centra...

15 صفحه اولthe relationship between learners critical thinking ability and their performance in the reading sections of the tofel and ielts test
the study reflected in this thesis aims at finding out relationships between critical thinking (ct), and the reading sections of tofel and ielts tests. the study tries to find any relationships between the ct ability of students and their performance on reading tests of tofel and academic ielts. however, no research has ever been conducted to investigate the relationship between ct and the read...
